What is the goal of INVEST?
Our goal is to provide a European-wide programme for enabling a more rapid maturization of European space technologies and components by offering an integrated, multi-platform IOD/IOV community.
What are the objectives of Invest?
1. Realizing a framework for a long term, structural programme to accelerate innovation and a more rapid adoption of new technologies in European institutional and commercial space missions.
2. Establishing mechanisms for matching IOD/IOV payloads with launch opportunities
3. Providing the European space technology community with a central portal towards information on IOD/IOV initiatives, opportunities, etc.
4. Achieving a closer integration of various IOD/IOV initiatives (at EU, ESA, EDA, national and commercial level) in order to leverage the various capabilities for IOD/IOV already available in Europe
5. Establish an implementation plan for the first five years of such a programme in order to ensure a structural commitment to space technology innovation and maturization.

Which organizations are targeted?
Any organization, public, private or a combination hereof that believes it can offer a positive contribution to the INVEST objectives. These organizations can for instance be payload developers, launch services, operators, or satellites hosts.
How does INVEST work?
Phase 1: Create a database with proposed technology IOD/IOV missions and launch, host or test service.
We need information about your proposed technology IOD/IOV missions or launch, host or test service to create this database. You can submit your proposal through the submit buttons on the home page until October 31, 2015. We will then analyse and match the proposed technology IOD/IOV missions with offered services.
Phase 2: Propose a strategic program with most promising IOD/IOV technologies to the European Commission. Based on the proposed IOD/IOV technology, mission match and roadmaps a strategic IOD/IOV implementation program is proposed to the European Commission as an input to their future IOD/IOV agenda.

Why should I participate?
INVEST offers you the opportunity to potentially get your IOD/IOV technology on the strategic European IOD/IOV agenda. For this you only have to submit your promising IOD/IOV technology. Based on matches with services, roadmaps and availability it can be selected for the INVEST strategic IOD/IOV implementation programme.
For service providers the main advantage is to announce their service availability directly to the IOD/IOV community.

Can I get funding for my mission through INVEST?
No, INVEST is not a funding program. However based on submitted proposals the INVEST project will compose a strategic IOD/IOV implementation programme, which will be proposed to the EC for the future IOD/IOV agenda. The EC may consider your IOD/IOV technology as being eligble for funding in future work programmes.
What data policy is applicable to the information I send?
Data shared by your organization through the INVEST-survey forms, email or any other communication means with the INVEST-consortium and/or the European Commission will be used to create an INVEST-database and to perform analyses on. This INVEST–database, the analyses and their outcomes will be delivered to the European Commission. All activities are performed in the frame of the COMPET-5-2014 INVEST project (under EC grant agreement 640369).
The data will be treated with great care and used for the sole purpose of the EC grant agreement 640369. If in any case, you would like to share strict confidential information, please notify the INVEST coordinator to discuss a Non Disclosure Agreement.
Which entities are part of the INVEST Consortium?
The INVEST consortium consistsof the the entities ISIS – Innovative Solutions In Space BV (“ISIS”), Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (“KTH”), INSTITUT VON KARMAN DE DYNAMIQUE DES FLUIDES (“VKI”) and Swiss Space Systems Holding SA (“S3”). The European Commission is the commissioning party.
What is the relation with the other COMPET-5 projects: GOTOFLY!, PLUGIN and IODISPLay
GOTOFLY!, PLUGIN, IODISPLay and INVEST are the four projects funded under the COMPET 5- 2014 IOD/IOV work programme. Each project has a distinct scope:
PLUGIN (PayLoad Universal Geostationary Interface) is a project focused on creating a standardized interface for hosted (IOD/IOV) payloads on geostationary satellites.
The GOTOFLY! project’s objective is to identify an IOD/IOV portfolio of solutions and opportunities to support the European Space R&T&D in the field of Satellite Communications
IODISPLay is focusing on capturing the current need for In-Orbit Demonstration within Europe, identifying technologies that could benefit from an IOD, whereas INVEST project looks at matching these needs with various launch/mission opportunities in the commerical and scientific field.

I have Confidential information that I would like to share
Please contact the INVEST team through the information on the contact page and you will receive a Non Disclosure Agreement.
I am from outside the EU. Can I participate?
If you would like to submit a launch, host or test opportunity non-EU participants are also welcome. For submittal of an IOV/IOD Technology only EU technology is accepted.
